A broad bombé band in 18ct gold with a richly quilted or matelassé surface — polished gold turned into something almost tactile, like a padded textile translated into metal. Across that domed ground, fourteen tiny cabochons of sapphire, garnet and emerald are set like points of colour on a geometric lattice, giving the jewel rhythm, sparkle and wit.
The effect is luxurious but highly disciplined: bold enough to read instantly on the hand, yet refined enough to remain unmistakably a house jewel rather than a generic statement ring. Rather than concentrating attention in a single centre stone, Chaumet has distributed colour across the topography of the ring, so the jewel comes alive as the hand moves. The cabochons keep the look smooth and rounded, never brittle. Signed and numbered. With original jeweller's box.
