Vivid Ruby Ring · 18K Yellow & White Gold, Open Filigree Halo
A vivid round brilliant ruby in yellow gold claws, elevated at the centre of a quatrefoil white gold halo: four lobed arches, open and airy inside, each one edged with a continuous line of round brilliant diamonds. The halo is double — an inner ring of pavé diamonds traces the stone immediately, then a second, larger four-lobed ring expands outward, creating depth and shadow between the two tiers.
The yellow gold band carries two channels of pavé diamonds along its spine, splitting slightly at the shoulders to meet the base of the halo. The gallery beneath the stone is open, lace-like — the light passes through from below as well as above, making the ruby glow rather than simply sit.
On the Architecture
"The quatrefoil is a Gothic motif — windows in cathedrals, tracery in stone. Here it holds a ruby the colour of stained glass and lets the light behave accordingly."
